Quickstart

A two-minute tour of the live demo — no sound.

This chapter gets you signed in and shows you around the main screen in about ten minutes.

Open the rig’s address in your web browser. You see the Operator authentication screen.

  1. Enter your user name in Operator.
  2. Enter your password in Passphrase.
  3. Select Authenticate.

If your organization has set up single sign-on, its providers are listed under Single sign-on. Select yours instead of typing a password. If you have registered a passkey, you can select Sign in with passkey.

Your first sign-in

On a brand-new rig, a First-time setup box shows the initial administrator name and password. Select Copy to copy the password.

After the first sign-in with an initial password, you must choose a new one:

  1. Enter the initial password in Current (initial) password.
  2. Enter a new password in New password (min 12 chars) and again in Confirm new password.
  3. Select Change password & continue.

Set up two-factor authentication

Every account that signs in with a password needs a second factor. The first time you sign in, you see Enroll authenticator:

  1. Scan the QR code with an authenticator app, such as 1Password, Authy, or Google Authenticator. If you cannot scan it, type the key shown under Manual entry into the app.
  2. Under Backup codes — save these now, store the codes somewhere safe. Each code works once. You need them if you lose your phone.
  3. Check I have stored these codes in a secure location.
  4. Enter the 6-digit code from your app in 6-digit code.
  5. Select Activate & Sign in.

From then on, after your password you are asked for a TOTP code from your app. If you do not have your phone, select Use backup code instead. If you have a passkey, you can select Verify with passkey.

Lost your authenticator and your backup codes? Ask your administrator. If no administrator can sign in, contact DroneTracker support.

Tour the dashboard

After you sign in, you land on the operator dashboard.

Video panes

The center of the screen shows the live camera picture. On a rig with two lenses, you may see a large picture and a smaller one in the corner. Select the small picture to swap them. Select ⊞ Split to show both side by side, and ⊡ PiP to go back.

The top-left corner shows SYSTEM: with the pipeline state, the number of active targets, and the detection model in use. The bottom corners show the local time, UTC time, and the rig’s position (or site not set).

Bounding boxes

When the AI detects an object, it draws corner brackets around it with a label such as AIRCRAFT · 87%: the object class and the AI’s confidence. A small badge inside the box shows the target ID.

Box colorMeaning
AmberA tracked target
RedAn anomalous target
CyanThe target you selected

A box fades out when the target has not been seen for a few seconds.

The target card

Click a box (or a row in the event log) to open its target card on the right. The card has two main parts:

  • Amber, top: what the cameras and AI think. Object class, a make/model guess, and confidence.
  • Green, bottom: what independent evidence says. For example, ADS-B flight data that confirms the aircraft’s flight number, route, and registration.

When evidence confirms the target, a ✓ Corroborated tag appears in the card header. See The operator dashboard for every field.

Alert levels

The narrow bar at the bottom left shows the highest alert level among current targets.

LevelNameMeaning
0IDLEScanning, no active targets
1TRACKINGKnown objects being tracked, all corroborated
2ATTENTIONAn object with low confidence or partial corroboration
3ANOMALOUSA detection that fails corroboration or matches an anomaly signature

Event log

The table at the bottom lists targets, newest first. When you open the page it shows the last 24 hours, then it updates live. Click a row to select that target and open its card.

Pause and resume

The GO LIVE switch in the top bar freezes and resumes the picture. You can also press Space. While paused, the video shows a ❚❚ paused badge.

View other sources

If the rig has more than one camera or video stream:

  • Select ⟲ Source at the top of the video. Pick a source from the Select source list to show it.
  • Select the star next to a source to make it your default camera.
  • Select ▦ Grid to see every source at once. Click a tile to show that source full size. Select ◱ Single to go back.
  • When you are showing a source other than the default, select ✕ Clear source to return.

Bounding boxes are drawn only on the source the rig is running detection on.
